We pride ourselves in the traditional approach to Italian cooking

Established in 1976, La Barca has been bringing the flavour of Italian hospitality to London for almost 50 years. The Restaurant has become a permanent fixture of Waterloo and Southbank.

Started as mainly Tuscany inspired eatery La Barca has transformed through the years and now brings wonderful, versatile gastronomic experience from many other parts of Italy.

The best of Italian wines from the most reputable winemakers are carefully selected for our wine list. Just a very short walk from Old Vic, Yong Vic, National Theatre, and Royal Festival Hall, located by the Waterloo station – La Barca is a perfect location for pre- or after-theatre, business meals, friends get- together, or romantic dinner.

We are simply proud of being able to share the joy of Italian food, wine, and ambiance with all our guests!!!

Our Chef

Our Head Chef Nicola Stoccoro was born in Sardinian Catering Family in Paris. When he was five they returned to Alghero, Northern part of Sardinia. Being the son of a restaurateur, Nicola was always surrounded by the finest Italian cooking and hospitality tradition. He loved spending his days fishing and using the finest fresh ingredients cooking for family and friends.

In the 1980’s he decided to pursue his independent career in London. Nicola joined some of the most established Italian restaurants of the time like Sambuca and Sale Pepe. Later he became an executive chef who opened Signor Sassi Restaurant in London Knightsbridge.

After years of work in catering, Nicola brought his knowledge, experience, and passion for the finest ingredients and cooking to La Barca Family.
